When I set out to create the Wotto Grafitti headcover collection, I wasn’t looking for just another "golf" design. I wanted something that didn’t sit quietly in your bag, I wanted rebellious attitude. A design that felt like it belonged on a skate deck, a punk flyer, or tagged on a train car. At the same time, one of my all time favorite bands Blink 182 had just announced they were getting back together and I wanted to pull inspiration from their untitled album into this work.
That’s when I turned to illustrator Craig “wotto” Watkins. His art is pure organized chaos: no blank spaces, every inch alive with quirky characters and bold line work. It’s funny, imaginative, and just the right kind of unhinged. His ability to fill a canvas with color and story without it ever tipping into disorder is what made him the perfect collaborator for this design.
What Reckless Abandon Means
The phrase reckless abandon is about diving in with unrestrained enthusiasm, throwing yourself into something without worrying about rules, safety, or consequences. That’s exactly how Wotto approaches his work. He creates with total freedom, layering stories, shapes, and characters until the piece vibrates with energy. That fearless approach is seen in this headcover design.
Reckless Energy on the Course
This cover isn’t about protecting your golf club. It’s about a mindset. It’s loosening the grip, breaking from the expected, and carrying a little chaos with you to every tee box. Reckless Abandon is your reminder to stop playing safe, to commit to every shot.
If I've learned anything about the game of golf its that in order to play your best, you have to let go. If you're timid, you won't perform--its not until you completely let go that you'll discover your true potential.
